Beginning in the fall of 2010 Small Blessings Preschool will offer early childhood enrichment classes for infants through 2 years of age. Classes will meet on Tuesday and Thursdays from 8:30 - 2:30 p.m. If you are interested in enrolling your child/children, please contact Laura Burns at 501.772.0660 or email at preschool@fumcbryant.org.

We believe as a tree begins as a small seed, so does a child. With the help of nurturing and care, the child begins to grow in all dimensions to explore and experience new opportunities. Our goal is that our students experience growth spiritually and academically.

Small Blessings is an extension of the ministry of First United Methodist Church of Bryant. Our program will provide a quality early childhood education through experiences that allow for children to begin their development socially, emotionally, physically, and mentally.

Educational Aims

The learning experiences offered by Small Blessings are planned and evaluated in terms of specific goals for the development of each child. The educational aims of the school include:

To enrich the child’s social development by providing group stimulation and participation.
To enable the child to recognize the needs and feelings of others; to learn to get along with children and adults; to find acceptable ways of solving problems.
To develop a degree of self-confidence, responsibility, and independence reasonable for the age.
To develop habits of courtesy and thoughtful behavior.
To make and enjoy friends, to share responsibility for care of the room and equipment, and to find real joy in belonging to a group.
To develop an appreciation for home, school, church, and community, and to recognize God’s plan for us to live happily together in the world.

Our comprehensive curriculum includes exposure to:

Dramatic play
Creative arts
Math readiness
Music and movement
Science and the natural world
Religious concepts (weekly Chapel)
Foreign Language
Manners

Concepts that enhance:

Positive self image
Language development
Large and fine muscle development
Listening skills

Program Details

Small Blessings accepts children ages 2 1/2 years up to Kindergarten for enrollment. A child qualifies for an age group by reaching that age on or before September 1st. Children in the three year old class must be potty trained completely before entering.

2 1/2 year-old class

3-year-old class
Two 4-year-old classes

Classes are held Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 9 a.m. until 2:45 p.m. Child pick-up begins at 2:30.

Small Blessings operates on a nine-month basis beginning the first Tuesday after Labor Day in September. Holidays and snow days will be observed concurrently with the Bryant School District.

Your child’s immunization record must be current and in our file in order to attend school.
